Ulf Moritz

Ulf Moritz is often regarded as the most creative designer in the entire industry. With his fabric designs for SAHCO, he searches for nothingness year after year. Provocatively, Ulf Moritz says that he makes fabrics for people who actually don't like fabrics. To achieve this, he uses any means open to him: he cuts, shrinks, felts, crimps and lacquers. He experiments with pineapple fibres, copper threads, horsehair and bast. He finds ways of combining fabrics with each other that apparently don't go together at all. In this way, the "Industrial Designer" (which is how he sees himself) succeeds in producing creations that transform rooms year after year.
